I wrote my favorite online bookstore to ask for discounts for books I am going to purchase for the Community Book Corner in one of the villages in the Leyte Sab-a Basin Peatlands. I had to buy the books to fulfill a promise to the girls during the International Day of the Girl Child Messenger Chat in October 2021. I asked some friends for pre-loved books and glad that some responded. And what I did not expect is a windfall of books from Chapter IX, my source of classics, vintage and rare to find books. How could the owner guess that I didn’t have the funds to buy so many books?
Well, the universe listens.
I got boxes of books. And best of all, Gary Montenegro gave them for free. Yipee!!!
