Self Care is A Must ..Dance ,Breathe , Live

Self Care

So today I danced , Moved like water , Paper and Honey ,  expressed love with my body movements and interpreted a non sensical sentence acting silly ,and I did all of this in the presence of about 40 women , without inhibitions as we interacted in this amazing session on selfcare with Aparnaa.

This session was a part of  ,"I quoteModule 6's #TrainingTuesday on Somatic Practices for Self-Care Led by Aparnaa Nagesh, interdisciplinary arts professional and World Pulse Changemaker,

This will be a gently facilitated session on understanding the body, where we store experiences in the body, and how movement practices can help with connecting the mind and body spaces.

The session will guide you through simple techniques in grounding, centering, and stress-relieving movement practices. You will also be introduced to posture/alignment, and correction techniques. A deep connection between breath, movement and visualisation will be facilitated to enable you to practice movement for creative regeneration, reducing stress and anxiety, as well as relaxation techniques for better rest and sleep.   "

For those of you who missed it , it was all this and more , it left you feeling so rejuevenated , the exercises allowed you to unload all the clutter ,and find your center and re set 

Aparnaa was a great host she took us through the paces , carefully explaining the benefits all the way ,even solemnly  sharing her WHY . Her experience as a dance coach and arts professional  really showed off.

Self Care is so very important ,as she said ,we can get so caught up in lifes hustle and taking care of our commitments at home and  on the job ,that we forget to take a time out for ourselves .

We may even get to place of thinking we dont need it , going on a vacation with the family isnt self care ,thats moving house lolzz, taking a time out , treating  yourself to day at the spa , doing something you really like , taking yourself on a shopping trip , updating your wardrobe and getting the essentials , are all aspects of self care . 

As my mum would say you cant pour from an empty cup , you need to refuel in order to give more of yourself

So even as we get ready to launch our initatives our push on the ones we are already involved in this year , lets take some time for self care 

I truly hope we can do this again , it felt good to close my eyes and move my hands like the rythm of the waves in the ocean ,gently crashing on the shore early in the morning ,the serenity envoloping you ,aaaah yesssss.
