UnMASKED

I want to thank all my sisters on this platform ,that encouraged me , that liked my post , that made comments as I shared on social media about the event , the days preceeding or the days after . I want to thank my buddy ,who was my cheerleader all the way and to an amazing sister who planted a seed into the event . Of Course was the boss in it all

One of the lessons in Module 5 was also about being accountable , so I used a lot of what I learnt here on fundraising ,implemented them in my planning and now I want to give an  account

I would say from all the feed back I achieved what I desired UnMasked to be ,people came out and they enjoyed themselves . The entertainment ,the ministry ,  the music , the pop up shop ,the fashion event was all well recieved .

One of the highlights was a visit from our  community Parlimentary Representative and Minister of Planning and Development .She gave literal  support to some of the vendors  as well .

Financially it wasnt what I expected , and there were a few factors that contributed to that , a lot of persons didnt turn up because we were experiencing heavy rains and heavy traffic , and that weekend was bombarded with events that were pushed there because of the flooding from heavy rains the previous weekend  , so honestly I didnt know what to expect as I literally self funded this event but thankfully  we didnt end up  in the red . Am only sorry because of the short fall   I wasnt able to raise the funds I desired to get  put my christmas initative together which would have provided pre packaged food and  personal care  hampers for our single moms , and provide at least one mom with an opportunity to start an entrepenural endeavour to provide her with income but I am still determined with a little help from my friends to do it .

The worlds economy is getting tough , and in our country for the last three years the effects of the pandemic have been telling , now that we are opened ,we are faced with high gasoline prices , high food prices , on last 5 years salaries and loss of incomes etc. It has been a challenging year for so many  here and the globe over . We really need o be our brothers keepers . People are struggling not from a lack of trying .

This was my frist event and absolutely not my last , I truly enjoyed every minute of planning ,one of the most amazing thing is that l connected with so many incredible women entrepenurs , with amazing passionate stories and one of them is even here on this platform now as a result of our conversations , so welcome to  my beautiful fellow trinbagoian Candice . Im saying this to say even in the planning I  got a chance to tell women about this powerful  platform and share what World Pulse is all about and the phenomenal women that are here . I got a chance to share my story and and pray with these women and encourage them ,just when they needed it .I got a chance to plan networking opportunities as we saw where we could use each others gifts and knowledge for the purpose of empowering others . So for me this event was successful even before the event .

One of the Artist at the event had this powerful painting entitled UnMasked ,and I really hope to acquire it for my birthday Janurary 31st 2023 hint hint,  it shows the glow of gold under the scares on the face of a woman ,which suggest that theres so much value buried behind our out look , so much yet to be unearthed ,so much thats yet to be birthed ,it says that we are not what we look like or our circumstances dont dictate our destiny

So I encourage you if you are out there and you want to collaborate or be an angel investor to my  Christmas initative ,lets bring a little cheer to someone this christmas, please reach out ,please check out my IG pages where purchase of the items will go towards funding our initatives
