Girls are equipped to end period poverty

The sanitary pads training workshop was attended by over 50 young girls.

The aim was to sensitise the girls, educate them about menstrual hygiene, teach them how to make reusable sanitary pads and how to care for them.

This initiative which was first of its kind was aimed at fighting period poverty amongst young girls and also prevent them from getting into temptation and immoral acts just to get money for pads. With the rise in the prices of sanitary pads, this workshop is timely as it gives altenative methods of handling periods.

Next year we intend organising this training in a large space to teach more than 500 girls at a time.
