Change Makers Lab , UnMasking the SHERO in me

I was a victim of Domestic Abuse , it took a lot for me to be able to say that on a public forum without feeling judged , I know I can say that here because my sisters stand by me with open arms of love and encouragement . I had the courage to leave an abusive marriage because I knew I didnt deserve what was being handed to me even kow it was the biggest risk I was taking with my life . But i didnt just leave , I exhausted the remedial help, councelling , praying , trying and when all else failed   I planned my escape although I was risking my life .

I am saying all this to say its what fuels my passion to speak out on domestic abuse and to do my endeavour  best to see my initative materialize to an NFP that  provides the support  and other mechanisms ,  so abused women can safely escape with their lives. It is what fuels my commitment to this World Pulse platform and what drives me to pursue my purpose utilising the resources here , the opportunites here , the eco system of support and networking here .

Being a part of the Change Makers Lab equipped me with the tools neccessary to take my initative from just being a proposal to ,a vision ,to becoming a structured well grounded organisation .

From Module,s  1 opening with Ana  touching on topics like  setting your SMART goals and doing a SWOT anaiysis  putting  things into perspective  for proper foundation building especially as my initative was just at the set up stage.

The lessons along with the video tutorials were delivered with great professionalism by a great team of experienced World Pulse Trainers

I am glad  I had the opportunity to engage the lessons and put into practise each step as we went along  into Module 2 , and 3 exploring  the importance of  building Paternships ,I was able to  carefuly contemplate engaging   such with someone who reached out to me after reading my initative.

This patnership  bore fruit when I endeavoured to create a Fund Raising effort  for my initative using my fashion brand   , after completing Module 5   doing Grant Writing, ,getting an insight the numerous options for Grants that available to NGOs and NFPs globally and  while Nuria instructed us on critial use of   Bootstrapping  .

The experience of doing my frist Fund Raising effort was a great one ,I  felt confident knowing the knowledge I now possess, aware of my Who ,Why and What  and  employing other principles from the modules , such a s transparency and accountability .

The fact that my WP community was supporting me even though they were not able to do so physically  was so inspiring.

The lessons all included assignments that were supposed be completed in a particular time frame . It was tough at times as some of the lessons were intense , but so many  resources were provided, which will always be available  to us for reference as we grow and Ana always made herself available to assist or recommend such .

By time  lesson 6  came up our exhaustion was rewarded with a session on self care and it was such an amazing one , our dear sister taking us through our paces of relaxation and breathing  techniques .

I would definitely recommend this Change Makers Lab to anyone , I know it took a massive effort behind the scenes , hats off to Jesmine and the Board of World Pulse  for allowing her vision to grow to where women globally can access a platform that builds leaders and provides Training the gives us the opportunity to explore our fullest potential

Thank you to the all the  amazing Trainers for your valuable contribution and eloquent delivery of all the Modules and to all those working behind the scenes to make this possible and a huge success.

Cogratulations to my Fellow Sisters , Cohorts,  I wish you success in your endeavours, we have been well equipped to establish our initatives to make an impact in not just our communities, nation ,but globally , ,and to  realize our visions  , we graduate as Leaders
