Change Makers Lab , Module 3, My Elevator Pitch .

SETUP is an acronym meaning , Sustaining , Empowering Transforming  ,U ,Purposefully .

Hi , I am Elizabeth Francis from the beautiful twin Island republic  of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean .

When one mentions The Caribbean Im sure your mind begins to conjur up a mix of  images , beautiful white sand beaches, and cystal clear ,blue hued oceans ,sun in all its glory , lush green flora and funa and umbrella adorned coocktails ,amidst the sounds of sweet steel pan music or some jamrock reggea

And you wont be wrong, but  lately we are becoming know too as one of the islands with the highest  rate of women killed due to domestic violence in most cases committed by a patner or spouse .

I may not have the ideal solution ,but I dont intend to stand by and do nothing , Im letting my voice be heard and working on a plan of action 

SETUP is a vision I have for an ecosystem ,where girls and women rescued from DV can find Quality Life  Councel , Temporary Housing , Transformational and Educational Training and be really SETUP purposefully to reclaim their lives all in a sustainable  green ,eco ,enviroment .

Im am praying to attract angel Investors ,  interested donors and like minded  team members  to join me ,while using my fashion  brand to organize fund raising events and opportunites towards , the establishment of this project .

My frist major goal is to  raise  money to purchase a five acre plot of land on our small island of tobago , which will provide safety in its  distance from the mainland ,and is also situated in the rain forest area ,  to set up our base, which will serve as  a natural start to our green ,eco space .

Here we will eventually set up an apartment building to provide ,  sustainable transitional  housing plus eco tourism huts to earn income  , an educational and resource  centre , a production facility , a retail hub and the  serenity gardens. 

In the mean time we are  doing our  part by reaching out to one individual at a time I have set up an instagram page where I post Digital Art Designs in the hope of selling them to contribute to helping individuals , I am yet to make my frist overseas  sale ,but I am still  very optimistic as proceeds from sales will further help the one single mom we are presently working with , trying to set her up with sustaining herself and her unwell child  by the establishment of a  micro food business.
