Your current situation doesn't determine your destined future

In the midst of the global pandemic, as resilient individual, I found myself facing the most challenging period of my life. As the world around me crumbled, I lost everything I had worked so hard to build: my job, my house, my cars, and even my whole furniture including clothes. However, I refused to let these circumstances define me. Instead, I made a conscious decision to rise above the ashes after the encouragement and motivation I received from the depression hospital I was admitted at and rebuild my life.

With determination burning in my heart, I took a deep breath and assessed my situation, looking at my age and my children who still needs me regardless of their ages. I knew that wallowing in despair would only prolong my agony, so I chose to channel my left energy into finding solutions and taking action.

The first step I took was to seek support from my loved ones and friends. I reached out to their support network, sharing my struggles without shame and opening up about my need for assistance. Surrounded by their encouragement and empathy, I found the strength to move forward.

I understood that I needed to adapt and be flexible in my approach. I embraced the idea of reinventing myself and explored various avenues for generating income. I scoured job boards, attended virtual workshops and seminars, and the concern of age also looked and seemed as an obstacle looking at country/world financial crisis with everything fallen apart, with my young sons who lost their jobs and graduates roaming the streets with the changing job market, all seemed impossible but I never gave up hope, I told myself, I wasn't a victim of COVID-19 hence I am still alive which means God still have a purpose with my life.

In the face of financial uncertainty, I recognized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset. I practiced gratitude daily, reminding myself of the things I still had—a resilient spirit, supportive relationships, and the ability to take control of my own life. I cultivated resilience by reminding myself that setbacks were temporary and that I possessed the strength to overcome them.

While rebuilding my life, I discovered the power of community and giving back regardless how little you might have. I became actively involved in local volunteer organizations, offering my time and skills to help those who were also facing hardships. By contributing to the well-being of others, I found a sense of purpose and connection, which further fueled my determination to keep moving forward.

Through perseverance and unwavering resilience, I started to regain my footing. I secured a new temporary job, though different from my previous one, and began rebuilding my financial stability. I was offered a small, humble place to call home and slowly started to acquire the basic necessities.

My journey was not without setbacks and moments of doubt, but I refused to let them define me. I knew that my strength and perseverance were far greater than any challenge I faced. With each obstacle I overcame, my confidence grew stronger, and my resilience became an unbreakable force.

Currently as I look back on my journey with pride. I realize that losing everything during the pandemic had been a transformative experience—a catalyst for personal growth and resilience. I had rebuilt my life from the ground up slowly but with pride that I managed to rise from the ashes, and in doing so, I discovered my inner strength and resilience that I never knew existed.

My journey really showed me that even when everything seems lost, with determination, resourcefulness, and unwavering resilience, one can rise above the ashes and rebuild a life filled with hope, strength, and purpose. If I did it and still doing it, so you are.
