 About a month ago, I was going through the roughest of times in my life. I had just recently healed from a major depression and I was finding it really difficult to cop with everything. For some reason, it just felt as if no one liked me. I was so obsessed with wanting everyone to notice and like me. I was desperate to be liked and loved by everyone or rather anyone. And at some point, I even started drinking just to fit in. But even after doing that, it still didn't feel right. Something was missing. So one day as I sat there a lone at mid_ night crying and cursing, I felt the need to talk to someone and I texted my sister. This is what she told me ...

 "At every stage of your life you'll meet people and probably make friends. Like they say, there's always a friend in every season. What you're looking for is companionship and it can be anyone whether a drop out or not. It will always be hard for you if you always want to be on the top. Lay low, be on the ground and you'll learn more and be wiser. The stage you're at isn't an easy one, but if you cultivate self love, be more conscious about you you, like you, love you, play with you, talk to you and dress up for you, you'll discover everything else doesn't matter. You don't need people to be happy.

 Don't look for league, be a friend to everyone and don't be choosy and you'll learn so much. At your stage everyone looking at you and liking you is number one priority. But don't be like them, enjoy your own company. Always enjoy your own company and someone looking for your kind of companies will tag along. Don't force relationships or friendships ...!"

 To all my fellow teenagers, I just want to encourage all of y'all to always be yoursselves no matter. Never do anything that is against your values and principles just to get liked by your peers. I know it can be difficult but I just want to encourage you dear reader to stay strong. The stage you're at isn't an easy one, but if you cultivate self love, be more conscious about you, like you, love you, play with you, talk to you, and dress up for you, you'll discover that everything else doesn't matter and everything will be just fine.
