World Pulse sisterhood with Nakinti: all the way to Yaounde the capital city hurray.

I love meeting my World Pulse sisters wherever I go, or whenever I can especially in my country. Here is how I finally met Nakinti.

I first connected with Nakinti right here on World Pulse after reading her beautiful story about meeting one of ours. The post was aptly captioned: That Moment Online met Offline: A World Pulse Connection! I sent her a private message and then we exchanged numbers. That was on Thursday 15th of November last year. I called her on the 18th of November like 3 days later, and my did we talk. Let me give you the duration of that epic call hahahaha: 1hr12 minutes. Now, we are both 40, have over 150 mutual connections on Facebook ha, have some really thriller tales from life (although I admit Nakinti's are hmmmmmmm tougher) and so much. The symposium which lasted 5 days was not held in her city of Bamenda one of the crisis hit cities, and so I couldn't avoid this opportunity to meet Nakinti at last.

And so, when I saw on Facebook that her organization was organizing a symposium for girls in Yaounde the capital city of our country, I checked my calendar. Coincidentally, the communications officer of my association was selected for the program. I didn't even know she had applied to the program, she might as well have joined us long after she had applied.

#Girls4GirlsLeadershipSymposium organized by @REWOCAM founded by Nakinti Besumbu Nofuru. I mean I wasn't invited but I learned about it on Facebook. I haven't met Nakinti before although we are on World Pulse together (that's even where I first connected with her exactly a year ago), and we follow and support each other morally here and on WhatsApp. So, I decided to bring forward my trip to Yaounde to today, in time for what happened to be the closing ceremony of the symposium. I just wanted to come and hug her and well offer some copies of my memoir to their library and some of the girls too. I dreamed about being asked to say something, but tbt I didn't want to interrupt their program. But Nakinti after closing the event with her speech, called me forward and I had 2/3 minutes to share with the girls. This is so soul. I just want to be supportive and honest in my life, collaborating instead of competing, comparing, complaining and backstabbing. Now, the Communications officer of our association Hope for the Abused and Battered Melie Lanature Melie was among the lucky 50 selected from the over 200 applications received. I was so proud of her and am sure my presence though so impromptu was a moral booster to her. I mean, what else are we living for if not to support each other as we lead ourselves along this life's journey? Darling Nakinti Iron and power ekete, thank you for the podium lol. I support you and you know we are in this together.

Am always grateful and excited to meet a World Pulse sister. Maybe one day we would have a national convention or meet together? Why not a regional one too oh lalala - The day I would meet Jensen and co, I would give each of them big big gratitude hugs because World Pulse encourages selfless and non judgmental sisterhood.
