Women Leading in  Climate action in the post Covid recovery awarded.

Pratibha Patil,a vegetable seller is from the Alibaugh village interior rural areas of Maharashtra and her project is to create stronger and more engaged communities by connecting buyers with established and remote farmers. She sells her vegetables for a living and is now expanding by using her vegetables for catering food too.\"It was my husband who encouraged me to cook and be independent. I dedicate this award to him\" says Pratibha.

 She feels that retired farmers can then pass on their invaluable local knowledge to motivated newcomers.
Similarly over 15 local women from various sectors, Fisherwomen,  orthopedic nurses, local village entrepreneurs and women in farming were awarded by Young Environmentalists Programme Trust and Suvidha NGO in association with Climate Reality Project India were awarded in rural Alibaugh yesterday to motivate more women to move towards self reliance and Sustainable Development goals.
Meanwhile the Aarey Forests of Goregaon also saw over 10 women get awarded for their work in the front line of Covid Pandemic recovery, expertise in the Mahila Commitee work and being self reliant through farming and stiching. 
Said Madhu Singhji Chairperson of Suvidha NGO at Alibaugh coastal area,\" Together with Young Environmentalists Programme Trust NGO we wanted to highlight the work these rural women have sustained through out the Covid isolation in 2020, who kept striving at ensuring that women contribute towards the family and society at large with their entrepreneurship skills as pillars of Society.\"

Women's role in regaining strength for a healthier planet both in their fight against Climate Change and the pandemic was highlighted.
\"Climate Reality Project India also hosted a webinar on Leadership of Women in their fight against Climate Change with many women from across the nation who are fighting for  Biodiversity Education and Mitigation. A challenged world is a very alert world and from challenge comes change.
So all these women awarded chose to rise to the pandemic challenge to help forge a gender equal world and
celebrate women's achievements in the Sustainable Development sectors.\" Added Elsie Gabriel Founder Young Environmentalists Programme Trust which has been conducting these Women's Achievers Awards for the last 16 years. Elsie is also the Ambassador for India Ocean Quest Global International and National Cordinator Oceans Climate Reality Project India researching on Ocean Communities as Agents of Change.
