I had this neighbor in my neighborhood who was constantly battering her fiancee. This went on for a long time. I had the come in in other to have a first hand knowledge of the happenings. Surprising that case was unreconcilable because this guy wasn't even ready to settle down with her. He was too demanding,he wanted a nurse, he hated her family cause she was raised by a single mom and so many other lame reasons. I had to intervene yet again during one other fight. Moved her into my family house my room to be precise. Encouraged her, and followed her to her mom. To say I was shocked to know that the mom wasn't even ready to have her back or understand the predicament she was going through is an understatement. I had to beg her to  cool allow heroff at home before going back.  I encouraged the girl to get a job and move out of the house instead of going back to a monster of a man since her mom wasn't ready to house her.
