Women Farmers

Don’t let anybody

tell you

That there

are no

women farmers

We tend land all over the world.

We’re tough, we’re strong

We know how to work hard

We’re brazen,

We’re wild, we’re free.

We live by the seasons

We live in tune with nature

We know when to till and plant

We know how to stay in balance

With the creatures all around us

We are partly earth and sky

We are partly sun and rain

We emerge from time to time

To invite you to remember

That women farm all over.

We are here to offer food

We are here to love the earth

We are here to care for her

To bring her offerings to you

We’ve done this

From long ago

We are her messengers

Her caretakers

We’re women farmers.
