In case there there sisters who do not know what procurement is, is the act of sourcing and purchasing goods, services, or raw materials for a business from vendors or suppliers. It includes every action involved in and required for sourcing these goods or services, and an official procurement process helps purchasing teams request, approve, and track every purchase and control business or organisational expenditure.

The contract and procurement industry is one of the most masculinised in the world, with women only able to occupy less than 1% of the space. Therefore, in order to ensure women become key players in the African procurement industry, the UNwomen and DOTakeAction organised to train 1000 women in public procurement. Hence the Women Economic Empowerment through Affirmative Procurement program is currently taking in applications for cohort 4 of the program.

Applications are open to women in Nigeria, Senegal, Mali and Cote D Ivore.

For sisters in these countries who may be interested in taking the training, find the application link below.

Looking forward to having more world pulse sisters join us in taking over the procurement space and adding value that only women can.
