Woman

I know violence against women is rampant all over the world, from what I see, it is not limited to just a country or continent alone, it is evident wherever people are! I also know that there are so many women fighting hard to free women from verbal and domestic violence.

I am baffled by how much violence is glamorized today, in the media, in homes and even the workplace. Violence doesn't require beating alone - it can be in a overtly sexual look given to you by your superior, or a body shaming comment by a coworker or even a psychologically abusive comment-

I saw a video clip of a man beating a woman in public, people ran to her to save her and I noticed she couldn't react to the people around her, she just laid there unmoving. After seeing the video, I was baffled and wondered, what did this lady do to this man that made him chase her in public and beat her so hard! Why are these people treating women like they belong to them? That you are a man doesn't make you more special than I am bro- I am human just as you are. You don't believe? Then check this out, during a security check, does the 'Recaptcha' ask if you are male or female? No, instead it asks if you are human! What is that passing across? Women are humans too! We need to be loved as you love yourself, we need to be respected as you want our respect too. I'm not your punching bag. I can read, write, think, lead, even create a masterpiece or develop the next highly rated technology - I can do all this even as a woman.

Multitasking is a piece of cake to me, I have been doing that since I was young; I sweep, cook, bath, prepare for school- all in the wee hours of the morning. So why can't I lead my team perfectly?

Give me a chance and let me breathe to my full potential today!

This write up is dedicated to every woman going through violence against women either subtly or loudly. I want you to know, you can do it. You can heal and blossom beautifully. You can be glamorous and dazzle people once again. Remember, you are loved!
