H

Adjoa

Marriage and or marriages has been the Hallmark of families since decades, especially in the continent Africa. Families out of Wedlock are consider criminal and a serious taboo. Many a times have such victims been harassed, abandoned and rended homeless because of having kids out of Wedlock.

This has been going on before the 70ties and is still is in our 21st century. The most victims of such violence are mostly

Teen Mother's . These, are young girls who is not fault of their found themselves victims. In search for their daily bread, these same community married men lure such innocent girls and impregnate them. In turn refuse to marry them as wives.

As an advocate of such volunerable group I decided to sort ideas concerning marriage and it related issues. I wanted to get the concept why the above question answer is only based on the above? Are they not other options to rescue these innocent girls and give them better and dignify lives?

I had a short interview with one of my Teen Mother's, and she thinks contract Marriage for such victims is the way to go. Please note, names are change for security reasons. And oh she calls me Ma'am ha!

Adjoa, is one of the beneficiaries of TIME FOUNDATION Ghana. She was part of the first batch of our establishment. With a seed money of only 700ghc equivalent to $150 she pulled the trigger and today myself and TIME FOUNDATION Ghana are so of her success.

She is now 25years of and and a responsible mother of one girl. She is also an entrepreneur. Let's hear what she got to say about Teen Mother's brouhaha.

Me: Adjoa I choose to interview you because you have Excell in your business with just only 700ghc, now look at your store? What do you have to say about this?

Adjoa: Thank you Ma'am, Before I was selected by you I have search for only 250ghc from family and friends but nobody came to my aid. So when I got the 700ghc from you I told myself I have to work hard to make you proud and bring shame to people. This is the hard work.

Me: Hahaha, why think about me and not think about you and your family?

Adjoa: My family is number one but I wanted to do well so I may come another day if I need more.

Me: Adjoa, with this your current store do you need more support in term of money?

Adjoa: Aww Ma'am, I will be greedy if I take more please give it to others

Me: so you don't need any support?

Adjoa: Yes please no money haha

Me: Thank you for that honesty

Me: Adjoa let me ask you this, where is you kids Dad now?

Adjoa: hmm I don't know ooo, when the pregnancy came and my uncle followed me to their house, that was only when I saw him. We are not talking because he refused his child

Me: what do you mean by he refused his child?

Adjoa: He denied the pregnancy

Me: Ooh yeah I remember you mentioned that to me.

Me: Adjoa my last question, If my organization become big and we got power to prosecute people like your kid Dad, what do you suggest we do?

Adjoa: Madam, Madam, hmmm I want them to marry us for a while, at the time of the pregnancy until we born. Then when the child is five years then can divorce us.

Me: Eeeii, this is interesting! Why do you want to divorce after marriage?

Adjoa: This is not true marry ooo Madam, lie marriage because of the pregnancy. And also because we get to be Care for and no shame in the society.

Me: oooh I get you, you mean contract Marriage for a period of years?

Adjoa: Yes madam Paper marriage.

Me: so they marry you for security reasons. You get to be fed, clothes, have shelter, health care and above all your kid is talking care of until five years.

Me: Why Five years and not less?

Adjoa: Madam, Five years is good for me maybe someone want less. Me the five years my child will start school.

Me: Wow, My smart Adjoa. I love your idea and we will see in the future if we can explore this idea. It's great I love it.

Thank you so much for your time.
