Gender equality cannot be achieved in a single day night. Each and everyone should have faced gender bias in their life. Everyone face gender inequality in different manner. Gender discrimination is always worse and what I have faced in my life is really what cannot be expressed in words.
In our country gender bias has affected the study choice of so may girls, saying that let he boy in the family study and the girl in the family can assist her mom in house hold works. Also domestic violence is another important issues that is faced by so many women and young girls in the name of gender bias. In so many countries gender discrimination is the basic cause of violence against women.
I feel like that women are deprived form decision making position and their independence is restricted to a high level which makes women to feel inferior through pout their life. Equal rights and opportunities is allocated for each and every citizen in this world. Then why there is a discrimination? Why there are two ways, separate for boys and girls? Why there are myths loaded under the topic gender bias?
As a young women, I have struggled very hard in this society where men are put forth and women are given secondary preference. When I started to raise my voice against this , I was asked to keep quiet and there is no proper platform for me to be vocal. After my entry into worldpulse, I could increase my confidence level after reading the stories of so many sisters who have faced numerous hurdles to achieve gender equality.
Still, I have more steps to go to make people what gender equality really means. I feel it is a only cultural change that can pave a way for gender equality and I am moving forward in this aspect in my society to create a equal environment in the community I live.
