Week 1 Assignment - Voices Rising

What excites me most about Web.2 is that it will provide me with tools that can help me grow and support my various visions and connect me with allies that will help me to bring about social changes. I have always believed that I was free and able to communicate freely and openely, but I soon found out that, I was wrong. I often wrote letters to the Media about certain social issues but they never got published.

It affords women to be able to communicate openly about issues that bother them or others closer to them or around them. It opens a wider platform for women to empower themselves and carry their voices far and wide across Continents. Women were previously disadvantaged, in that they were forced by circumstances not of their own making not to air their plight or grievances, they were forced to suffer in silence, but Web.2 has broken that barrier, it has opened doors and raises women voices louder.

They can be empowering to me, because they would be allowing me to express my inner feelings, connect with other like minded people and share issues with them, issues that I may not be able to solve on my own and they would also expose me to the challenges out there and also put me within reach of assistance in whatever form I may need.
