We need Alternatives and trust

We need Alternatives and trust

Keshav Joshi

(Menstruation is a taboo.)

Now the world is facing the challenge of coronavirus but the women of Nepal are in double trouble, that the fear of corona and fear of government, society, and family while the reason is a mensuration time.

The Middle and Far West, living in fear of the Chhaupadi (menstruation time) in the name of the custom, the surviving women are in a much worse condition. The government's steadfast determination to demolish the chhaupadi sheds (which are used by the women in their menstruation time as 5 to 7 days) and eliminate the chhaupadi rite, that has left many in silence. So far, about 200 sheds have been destroyed and collapse. After the demolition of such sheds women are using more insecure places, such as tents, caves, and barns,  in menstruation time due do the fare of the god which is deeply rooted in their mindset. As a result, the campaign by the government has been criticized from all sides.

Even more, Karnali and far west people who live in Kathmandu (central of Nepal )  and who are educators criticizing it. They do not have the resolve to \"build their own village\". They say that chhaupadi has been developed as a ritual that is not easily demolished. ‘So would it be quiet to be called a rite?’ They do not answer. They say they want to change. But No matter what changes they want, the improved chhaupadi or destroyed such rite. On the other hand, the government did the work of demolishing the homework without any hassle.  However, no alternative was seen by the alternatives to the enclosure. No one was able to say if God was angry if so we would solve it.

The only victim can explain her pain rather than to the observer. Raising a noise from the capital was nothing. As the government becomes more stringent, the lives of women are sure to suffer. The number of women who want to change in the village is higher than the number of women who do not want it. Men do not even care about this issue. Because they have not been facing such a problem. As a result, the number of psychiatric women is sure to increase.

The sound against the roof should be raised from there women. To raise that voice, the government must raise the voice of public awareness. Until a daughter, daughter-in-law can’t speak against the chhaupadi, it is impossible to break the tradition. Today, the villages declared free of Chhaupadi and demolished but in a few days, the tradition will have appeared. because In those villagers are suffering from illiteracy, lack of awareness, lack of sanitation and lack of healthcare, when one gets sick, he first gets to Dhami and Purohit, and the deity appears to be stitched. The reason seems to be chhuyant it means the woman is living in her house in the mensuration time and she touched other persons. Then, they again go through it.

If, they have a choice to go to the doctor instead of priest then, the chhupadi huts would be destroyed by themselves. Until the easy access to take medicine the practice will be continued. Everybody wants to survive, to save their family. So, who gives counsel, he will do it. There is a poor financial situation, lack of ideas and villagers can’t afford an illness person taking them to other cities. And, he is compelled to live with ancient thinking. Sagittarius, shrubs are readily available in the village. They have no choice but to go to the refuge. When people suffer from general outbreaks, diarrhea, and headaches, they can’t find paracetamol the lack of government presents, they have no way to trust God. Unless the government brings forward such programs, it is difficult to break the tradition. The government should give God the option of trust, with proper education and proper health care. Otherwise, the fear of anger will never be overcome. Governments must say, belief in me, that the government gives it by fulfilling their basic needs. We need to come out of the superstition.

The problem of eating, living and wearing clothes is even more alarming in families who are dealing with problems. The government's attention needs to go there. The government also has the task of creating an environment where people can sleep at home. This environment can be expected to be created by the goodwill of the community or by the community leaders, dhami and priest.
