In order to develop our great nation, sanitation and access to clean water must be the upper beat that will restore the rhythm of life to that one child who has been longing to quench his thirst for fresh drinking running water for a decade because we cannot run away from the fact that people today still access their water from the shallow wells, rivers, and streams just to cook their food for the day. Imagine they have to sacrifice all they can to fetch for firewood that will boil the precious lifesaving liquid after covering long distances from the source at the expense of deforestation which has got an impact on climate change. Access to clean water must be valued at all levels of life. It is important to note that during this pandemic practice of good personal hygiene must not be taken for granted at all cost because it may attract diseases. As a way to secure the lives of children, youth and the old alike strict adherence towards water and sanitation health is necessary. Children are at high risk of being malnourished if they were to play in dirty environments and if they are to consume contaminated water. It is important to note that access to clean water in Zambia affects 6.8 million lives and now that we are battling against COVID-19 children’s safety is at stake. Essential child care must not be shunned by anyone if we are to have a generation of health Leaders. Provision to quality running water in the homes must be considered because as we approach towards the summer soon the clouds will begin to the prepare the clouds as a way to satisfy the farmer indirectly the wet season is highly known for the water-borne diseases such as diarrhea, dysentery, cholera to mention a few that it brings about. The only way to defeat the enemy is to have a powerful roadmap before the day of the battle meaning that as members of the general public strive to adhere to health guidelines to prevent the current pandemic they should ensure that the culture of hygiene becomes their sustainable habit. Sustainable Development Goal 6 is questionable when it is to be brought forward to our nation’s side because by 2030, hope is dedicated to achieve access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all and end open defecation, paying special attention to the needs of women and girls and those in vulnerable situations.
