“Man needs to choose, not just accept his destiny”. Paolo Coelho
Have you ever had the strange feeling that although we live within the same society, surrounded by people like us, having and experiencing the same routine, feeling the same feelings of anger or happiness, joy or sorrow, by the end of the day we feel differently? Whether we feel fulfilled and happy, or disappointed and frustrated, it’s up to us to discuss things, to analyze the consequences and make decisions. How? By communicating to other people.
Communication is the greatest gift which was given to people, and, fortunately, nowadays we can use it fully in all its variants. Thus, the Web 2.0 gives everyone the opportunity to create new relationships with women all over the world in order to find out and share information, opinions, ideas about our lifestyle, happy moments occurring in our every day life or our needs and troubles. Currently, our world is a huge town, where everyone and everything is linked to each other by invisible threads, which make us act differently in certain situations. And when we find ourselves in difficult situations, most of us, tend to face them alone, being afraid of discussing and analyzing them with other people, because we are scared of people’s reactions: what if they laugh at us? And, because of this judgment, there is the lack of communication in our life which leads to a feeling of uncertainness and lack of confidence.
That is why, I really appreciate your site and the possibilities you give to us, the women from different parts of the world to overcome our fears and talk, describe the events, issues that happen to us, because they are mostly the same, and the actors are the same, just in different places. So, the solutions would also be similar to them. Thus, your site is a wonderful chance for us to describe our life, express our feelings of happiness and/or fear, and ask for help, offer suggestions and even help. You know, the world is not so big nowadays, so we can even visit each other and give a hand; sometimes it is just enough to pat the person to make her/him feel good and ready to try again and go on.
Both men and women have mostly the same needs: eat, drink, wash, love and be loved. But, in my opinion, we react differently to the stress we face. Generally, the men meet at the bar, or at the sauna to take out their stress and “rule” the world. What about the women, who are at the same time mothers, wives, daughters and according to these positions, have some “duties”? Most of the women spend their time in the kitchen, cooking, doing the laundry, doing homework with their children. Is it bad? NO. Is it good? NO.
If speaking of my community some of the women organized groups, according to their interests, there is a team of volleyball players; there is another group of women who meet to sing in the local choir. Meeting regularly together for these two activities is a great opportunity for them to speak out their life, comfort each other. But they represent just 10% of all the women from my community. What about the others? They need a hand to let them see other perspectives of the life they live in and make decisions. No one can decide for us.
