Voice of Women Africa

As Founding Director of Voice of Women Africa, hoping to form local country chapters of a network of women leaders. Our aim is to increase women’s participation in politics, in order to have more women making decisions that will engender peace, prosperity, greater freedoms and a expansion of rights. In building a cadre of women who believe in themselves and in other women, we aim to increase the number of women voting, and being voted for.

Our mentoring scheme bridges the generational gap by creating exchanges between our mentees from secondary schools and universities with older women activists. Bridging the Intergenerational and understanding gap between and amongst women is critical work, in service of creating opportunities for all women so we can impact the world.   We need to bridge the gap between women and girls so the younger generation can get a front row seat of the work we do so they can start earlier and stronger.

Our Pathway to Politics program is carved out to give knowledge in running a campaign as well as general leadership skills. Our online videos and podcasts will also amplify unheard voices advocating for rights, in service of inspiring similar actions.

At this time when a crisis looms over all of us, it is clearer as to the kind of person we want to be in charge. And generally speaking, women are winning.

Sierra Leonean women are resolved to work alongside the men to achieve our dreams in ensuring that women form critical mass of the local councils and Parliament in 2023.
