VOF Month 2- First Draft: Wealth of Gender Discrimination

Nepal was ruled by Rana’s from 1903 B.S where Nepalese weren’t allowed to go to schools, to be in the decision making level, and to raise their voice. During the period, the people’s rights were kept like a bird in a cage. Therefore, in 2007 B.S. Nepalese fought against the government so king Tribhuvan left the Narayanhiti Durbar and went to stay in India. After this situation, the people get freedom from 104 years Rana’s rule and were able to bring democracy in the country. What happened after the freedom? Were the people getting their freedom? Nepalese were doing great and were improving their lives. They have get chance to enroll into school and obtained higher education and opportunities. But when it comes to gender equality, there is a huge gap between male and female. Men have improved their lives but women are still in the same position. Most of the women in the country are ignored politically, culturally, socially, and economically. They do not have power in decision making level so their voices are ignored. People believe and superstitions are the main causes that restrict women to understand the real world and bring change in their lives. Moreover, I have seen in many remote areas where women lives are different then men. Their world is their family, their power is their husband and their fortune is their children. This is most of the women in remote area’s real world. I am an example of this situation. I will be writing about my personal experience from my childhood till today. Please comment me.
