urgency on empowering women

There is an urgent need to increase the empowerment of women in Nigeria as a case study.Yesterday as I was buying food stuff in the market,at the point of paying,a woman with baby on her back approached me begging for help to find something to eat.At first I didn't want to be concerned because there a a lot of beggers on Nigeria street and you don't know the fake from original.
But on a second thought,I thought about the baby sucking at her breast,how he will go hungry or malnourished.I quickly asked the guy to give her some food stuffs.she thank and prayed for me,but I was wondering why this woman should go hungry with a baby.I concluded that the husband may be on the run or not responsible for them.
I have been faced with this kind of situation in the past,where I had to do the little I can which is not enough.Which sometimes I wonder why me,why do they keep coming to me,it became like a calling to save the world.
So I concluded that what most women need in Nigeria is empowerment financially.Having a skill or business to rely on to support their family,been better equipped to better the lots of their family.
