Update of my initiative no sun burn no cancer.

The produce of some locally made products, to better the lives of persons with albinism and their parents.

Association for the welfare of albinos in collaboration with the women empowerment and the family and the coordinating unit of associations of persons with disabilities, organizes a training workshop dated 5th of August 2022. The reason is to sensitize persons with albinism on skin cancer and to empower them in the production of the locally made products such as Vaseline, this helps to smoothen and removing the hard tissues on the skin of persons living with albinism, Menthol, helps to prevent the lips from breaking, Cocoa Beverage, Bleach and liquid soap are other products being produced.

This workshop started with a briefing about albinism and exploration on how the produce products are  important and how it can be marketed, it was noticed that most of the persons living with albinism in my community live below human standards and are prone  to skin  cancer and do not have a good marketing strategy and many them are employed,  uneducated, some are even rejected by their own families.

23 persons  were empowered, and it was noticed during this training that, most  or all of them are digitally  technology illiterates needs  to be thought  in some  days  to come  for an  easy and safe marketing strategy. This  market  strategy  will help  them  not  to go hawk in the sun and to be dependent and it wil enable  them  to  stay at home  and also aid their  vision.

These produce will be marketed by the organization  to gain resources for future trainings.

Some  of the produce  was being  distributed to them  to better their  livelihood, but the most  important  thing  is teaching  them how  to "catch  their  own  fishes".

Most  of them were advised to use protective  materials  for their skin when  producing  Bleach  locally such as protective glasses, gloves and also use long stck for the stirring process.

Another sensitization campaign is going to take  place  in November and strategies will be put in place  on how to organize a fundraising campaign  afterwards  in order to mobilize  resources  for this campaign to be successful for the betterment of the health of persons living with albinism in Cameroon and why not the world at large. .

We also  need  a lots  of well wishers, funders and anyone who can assist us put an end to skin cancer, which is the number killer disease towards persons with albinism.
