UN Women - Antiwar

My painting recently moved from botanical watercolors (since 1992) back to acrylics on canvas that I first tried around 1960. Thus you see a transfer of a botanical on “No More War Baby”. This painting also incorporates a transfer of my own baby photo, one that won a newspaper baby photo contest in Indianapolis around 1936! This represents my nearly lifelong concern about war. When first learning to read I asked my parents “What does it (newspaper headline) say when there isn’t a war?” (First grade 1941.) Amputated limbs, brain injury, suicides should not be our goal for young people. Nor spending 57% (in U.S.) of the national budget on such destruction. There are many ways to say no. Just say it.

We must include in women's education, the goal of opposing war efforts in any form. War is no longer useful or productive and wastes money, equipment and lives.
