Triggered Nation

Isn't it exhausting? I find it absolutely exhausting sigh...so the pandemic is happening, the economic crisis, the cartels that drive up the prices; I mean it is a free market so why not? they say, life is happening & don't get me started on the government! Marriages are strained, bills accumulating & the kids caught in between the mess & that's where it starts or ends. Triggered. My people are easily triggered by anything due to the circumstances surrounding. There is no safe space because everyone is triggered by something! Before you judge or say something, I find myself running to their defense; a woman stabs the husband/boyfriend I defend her citing it MUST have been self defense, a man kills the whole family I'm busy thinking he must have been overwhelmed. For a moment I'm outside my body looking in & I can't help but think \"I must have lost my own mind if I can justify any killing\".
Kenya is a beautiful country, has Wonderful people, social & our hospitality is heart warming. So what led us here? What has led this nation to this barely unrecognizable state? One word; CORRUPTION! Thi word is a cancer which over the years has grown & now deeply rooted. Has had Kenyans on their knees, men becoming shells of themselves, woman taking all the heat, because like we all know, women give it all until there's no breath left in them. Kenyans are barely surviving, running away from the cities to the country sides. Killing has become the solution to most unfortunately & sadly becoming the norm. Always aired, bringing light to another cancer; poor court systems that see judges, lawyers compromised to either drag a case or dismiss it which can only mean that accountability for crimes committed will never be. If people can't be accountable, can the killings stop? No! Most of us are loosing our minds & I'm worried of the future that awaits my country, worried for our kids & the generations to come, worried for our women & the current fear that drives them. Worried that the joy that my people once had & known for has now turned into a highly triggered Nation full of anger & contempt. We need good leadership & God. I want to go back, go back to a Happy Kenya.
