Tribute to the Daughters of Africa

To the many women who have left an imprint in my life: My mother who gave me life, the blessing of her protection, and spirit wisdom. My Grandmother's grace and cultural education. Many aunties who imparted a sense of style, character, and embodiment of feminine strength. My cousins who were like sisters and held my hand as we experienced life together. Most importantly to my many circle of sisters who wholeheartedly give of themselves everyday... I am the sum of many life-giving energies arising from a strong, dynamic, passionate sisterhood. It is wonderful to celebrate today with other women across the globe! May we garner courage and confidence to tackle all that yet remains to be addressed with respect to women's rights.

Today, I will be covering the CARE 2011 National Conference which opens with a tribute to the 100th anniversary! More pieces to come on how this day was commemorated in Washington, DC!

Till then, enjoy my video presentation: Tribute to the Daughters of Africa
