Training on Internet and Economic Empowerment at Small Ekange.

Today, the 7th of January 2017, I began my 1st training of the year at Small Ekange. Small Ekange is one of the camps in the South West Region of Cameroon. The people staying there are laborers of the Cameroon Development Corporation ( CDC). They work in the plantations and are mostay exploited and under paid. It was very exciting as the women and girls learnt how to use the Internet for the 1st time. Some who managed to have smartphones, we inspired to configure their phones to be able to browse the internet. We used a laptop, tablet and a smartphone. One of them was able to join World Pulse today. She is Esobo Julie. She is very happy to learn and immediately join us, here on World Pulse. Another by name, Noela Ewi was very happy to create her email address. She promises to join World Pulse as soon as possible. Most of them are farmers and they were very happy to learn how they can use the Internet to market their produce. They were also very happy to learn how to produce local juice which they can sell and make some money. I ended the day by giving them some washable sanitary pads. Which to them was timely and a solution to their menstruation worries since buying pads was challenging to some of them. In all, 20 women were trained today and I shall be going back to see how well they use the knowledge they have acquired. Today was an awesome day as I step into 2017 to bring in the change I want in the lives of women girls.
