Touching lives, one at a time!

Looking around you, you will notice that child that has been out of school due to the inability of the parents to pay the school fees.

Looking around you, you will find that family that goes to bed daily with no food and no idea of where tomorrow’s meal will come from.

Looking around you, you can easily find that widow that is so helpless, hopeless and homeless.

Looking around you, you can easily find the sick that don’t have a dime to visit the doctor or even to buy any medication from the pharmacy.

Looking around you, you can see people in need of one thing or the other. These needs are not wants rather they are all that they need to live each day alive.

As an individual, we cannot help all the people in need, because the numbers are in millions and I don’t think anyone has the capacity or the ability to carry all.

But there is something we all can easily do;

-we can decide to provide a meal for that family

-we can decide to pay the fees of that student that have been out of school

-we can provide those school supplies that the student needs to excel in school

-we can provide medical assistance to that poor individual lying down hopelessly sick

-we can do one thing, no matter how small to put a smile on the face of that hopeless individual who is not aware of where the help will come from.

- we can empower that poor widow to start up a business or vocation that will help her to earn for a living.

We may not be able to touch all lives, but we can easily touch lives, one at a time. This is known as corporal work of mercy. The greatest gift is that given to that person that cannot pay you back.

Anyway, most people will say, I am not really rich, if I have money, I will definitely do that. NO, NO, NO! You don’t need to be rich to help anyone. Do what you can with the little you have and the good Lord will multiply it in thousand folds.

Based on the above, I founded an NGO, LCK OGUERI FOUNDATION (LCKOF), with the slogan \"Touching lives, one at a time\", to help the widows and orphans in the rural communities in Nigeria. We have been able to empower some widows through small business startups, give scholarships to children from indigent families, provide school supplies to some adopted schools. We hope to do more with time and look forward to collaboration to achieve our mission. Indeed, there is joy in lifting others. We pray to God to open more doors for us to do all we can.

We don’t need to have deep pockets or be rich to help the needy, the poor and the hungry. We need to have a heart”.
