TO THE PRESIDENT, HOW WE WISH...................

Dear President Barack Obama, First Lady, The secretary Hillary Clinton and vice president Biden including all key senators.

Mr President I write this letter today to beseech you by the mercies of God so that you act upon passing the IVAWA act because women are suffering.

We are experiencing a hard time across the globe and the situation is persisting. Women /girls lives are under siege .I realize that gender based violence is an international concern or encounter. Women‘s rights are being violated, they are the ones who face a lot of humiliation such as being sexually harassed, raped, beaten, passion killings and all kinds of injustice done to them, Youth girls being used to gratify men’s desires luring them, bluffing them with money.

Mr President in my location even as I am writing now my heart is soaked with pain. I don’t know what men of this world want in women, women deserve love and respect in all humility. Things are mixed up in terms of our counterparts who wants to abuse women for no apparent reason,A WOMAN IS THE GLORY OF A MAN,the reason why some men are successful its because there is a powerful force behind. In a world whereby one man has multiple partners, making babies, bringing oppression to the female partner incase she wants to inquire why the partner behaves in that way.

Because men want to live the way they want, life turns to be miserable for most women. When they want to query they are beaten, sometimes the relationship end up in a serious condition. I don’t know who has bewitched men. Alcohol consumption is so high, I see people drinking everyday who also lead to unpleasant behaviors, i ‘ve seen such situations a husband assaulting his wife due to alcohol influence. All these lead to people contracting the HIV/AIDS virus. I wonder who is going to help this sexually restless people. Hoping from one woman to another, breaking their heart, merciless as they are to the hearts of women, they don’t stop their habits, so in this case one men will emotionally abuse more than 10 women. This brakes my heart, because women then encounter rejection, pain, degrading them while hunger celebrates and takes their joy. Due to all these behaviors women find it difficult to get married or experience marital delays or if they get married separation and divorce is just waiting around the corner.

I came across a woman who was physically abused by her lover : The lady told me ‘ I went to the farm to see the father to my children ( mind you the woman and the father to the children are no longer together) .I had no food in my little hut not even a single thing to give to my children. So I decided to go and ask their father to give money for the food. So the following morning as i went out of my hut my lover came from his place to see me, I thought he came to see me as usual but I could read his mind and I saw that he was up to something bad, I couldn’t even look into his eyes, his eyes were red fuelled by anger. He told me to follow him and without talking we went into the bush among some hills by the small rivers where he told me to undress. From the trees he brought a small thick stick and he started beating me and he signaled to me never to complain or hold his hands as he did the beating. You know how that man bet me, my body turned blue and red. From that angle I came shivering with shocking pain. He also told me not to report the matter ‘So that was the story for the woman, she cried bitterly as she was telling the story. Mr president this is unbearable even just hearing the treatment its so hurtful, however, not forgeting countless sufferings that we often here across the globe done to a woman.

President Barack Obama as a leader of a powerful country I embark on you . I know you’ve all the capability of helping us women across the globe by seeing to it that the IVAWA Act is passed on.

I look forward to hearing the great news.

Thank you.

Yours Faithfully

Warona Maifala
