There's Joy In Giving your All. (JIGA)

Early this year when I conceived this idea of celebrating my birthday with the elderly, I was frankless and uncertain how possible it was going to be.

This whole idea came up after I saw my 74 year old mother's reactions whenever a gift was brought for her. I asked myself questions about other elderly around the community who have no one to cater for them what if I made it happen for them through the occasion of my birthday.

Well, I contacted  some friends who contributed to ensure that this was successful. They trusted me with their finances.

While at the University, I had made a rule to visit orphan homes to share with them whatever I had but I never had the opportunity to visit the elderly. This is the best experience so far and am glad I ventured into it.

I had the opportunity to visit 6 elderly persons; 2 at the General Hospital in Kumba and the rest at their homes. When we got to the hospital, we went to the male ward and presented the gifts to an aged man and we also went to the female surgical ward and gave a woman who was operated upon.  Their reactions blessed my soul and my joy was full.

Each of the elderly we visited received

There's joy in giving. When you give whatever you have there's this joy that feel your heart. Don't give because you want to take pictures to show the world but give because it your responsibility to give back to the community.
