I am extremely excited to be recognized as a World Pulse Changemaker by World pulse. In World Pulse, I have a community that gives me motivation, energy, and a blueprint for executing my passion. I’m forever grateful to you.

Most of the social issues we are striving to solve or change in our communities have their roots deep in our cultural values and practices around us; these often require a social norm change approach to make the transformative difference we envision. It’s unfortunate that many of these negative cultural practices are against women and girls. There is no doubt that overcoming negative practices takes time and a great deal of patience and persistence. One alone cannot create the impact expected. It’s like a puzzle we all have to strive to fix. So, as a changemaker, bearing in mind that each one has a piece of role to fix is key as I keep inspiring the community to make that change and impact. For me, social change is a journey I have committed to travel to a destination of impact with my community. It is interesting that the personal demands while leading social change have tended to shape me as a person even as we shape the world.

I am inspired that my interaction with my community has been able to inspire others, I am able to see the change I want to see in the women and girls I reach out to. This motivates me to stay the course and gives me a positive belief in the change I am promoting. I want to encourage every member with a vision for their community that the change may seem slow to come but keep walking; one step at a time, you are nearer your destination of creating change and impact.
