The Voice

Away from the woes and pains of the heart
We'll use this voice to speak on behalf
of those innocent little ones whose voices have been maimed
by trials so cruel so merciless, should they be named?

They stripped away the innocence, they tore apart the mind
These deviled beasts seek only to do great harm
Delicately and meticulously tearing each petal from the rose
The danger freezes its victims, the beastly carnal mindedness just implodes

let's speak to the rumbles and grumbles of the tender tummies
of those children who are sick, who are homeless, who are without their mummies
what about those who made it to the womb
but could only last a month, their spirits to never bloom

those skin crawling sounds that only go POP
the noises we fear, the ones they adopt
for this is all they know, and this is all they hear
gunshots and bombings shall never disappear

while some are dismembered, others violated,
we still turn to each other with such pure hatred
for we could not get that raise we wanted or fall in love with the guy we dated

the winds of freedom and right to speech have empowered us beyond defeat
in our world where we can walk the walk and talk the talk
let's walk a humble path
and talk a grateful talk
God has granted us more than we can afford
and in our words to each other
let them be the prayer we utter
for those who are less fortunate than us.
