The Vagina Monologues

Vagina Image

hmmm, I have yet to hear of this on WorldPulse. It used to be known as VDay,

One Billion Rising is the biggest mass action to end violence against women (cisgender, transgender, and those who hold fluid identities that are subject to gender-based violence) in human history.  https://www.vday.org/

until it turned into One Billion Rising. After it was produced in my rural town in umm 2003? I decided to produce it several years in a row. After a couple years the local newspaper started reaching out to me if it was going to happen again.

So, I was first introduced to The Vagina Monologues by a young old growth forest defender risking her life to save the old growth Redwoods and Douglas Fir forests in the western USA. She gifted me the book.

1 in 3 women across the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. That’s ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS. Every February, we rise – in countries across the world – to show our local communities and the world what one billion looks like and shine a light on the rampant impunity and injustice that survivors most often face. We rise through dance to express joy and community and celebrate the fact that we have not been defeated by this violence. We rise to show we are determined to create a new kind of consciousness – one where violence will be resisted until it is unthinkable.

Every year i produced this event, i watched women metamorphosis from abused victims into Vagina Warriors!!

Both V-Day and Vagina Warrior are trademarked names.

Consider producing in your community.

it is truly amazing!!!!!
