Behind every tent is a story of survival, dignity, and the hope of returning home.
Exhausted by Tent Life
I never imagined that a tent would one day become the title of my life.
At first, I thought it was temporary—just a few days, and then we would return to our home and our normal lives. But days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. The tent became an entire world that we try to live in despite its limitations and hardships.
Life in a tent is not simply a small space made of fabric. It is a daily struggle against the heat and the cold, against the lack of privacy, against the endless noise, and against the anxiety that follows us from the moment we wake up until we fall asleep.
The hardest part is the silent exhaustion that slowly seeps into the soul. Missing your bed, a quiet corner in your home, and the sense of safety that once felt ordinary—until it was gone and we finally understood its true value.
There are days when I feel completely drained. I do not want to talk, explain, or even pretend that I am okay. I simply want a break from the weight we carry every single day.
Yet every morning, I wake up and keep going. Not because I am always strong, but because life still asks us to continue. Every day, I learn that resilience does not mean the absence of pain; it means finding a way to live with it without losing our humanity.
I am writing these words because behind every tent is a story, and behind every story is a human being trying to hold on to dignity and hope despite everything.
I may be exhausted by tent life, but I still believe that difficult days do not last forever. I believe that we have the right to live in safety, to return to a home that brings us together once again, and to have a future in which a tent is not all that we own.
This is not just a story about a tent. It is a story about resilience, about people who continue to hold on to life, hope, and dignity even when everything around them has changed.
As I share my experience, I wonder about yours as well.
