The Sharks are Gathering.

\"Nigerian
Nigerian Women Arise!

Nigeria my beloved country is blessed beyond measure both in natural and human resources.

Every part of my country is highly blessed we are so blessed that our only problem( which had turned out to ruin and make a mess of all the blessing) is leadership. The intelligent and smart ones find it difficult to get into the public leadership space not to think of women in political offices.

We are bedeviled by partriachy, even when we have a smart woman gunning for a political office, she is asked if she has her husband's consent. It is even more difficult to run for an election as a single woman .i.e,single mum, widow or unmarried,no one will vote for you. Not even your female friends.

Then comes the issue of high cost of seeking for an electoral position, in my country you need huge funds to run for an election and most women do not have such deep pockets.

Why should political meetings hold at mid  -nights? Why can't the numerous political parties' meetings hold during the day so that women vying for offices can also attend and make their input.

Yet,we crave change, change from men who want to hold us perpetually down? What an irony!

It looks to me like everything has been orchestrated to frustrate women political participation and the Nigerian women seem to be at a cross- road.

With population on our side, should we continue to sit back and look? We can't go on like this because we are always at the receiving end of all the miscalculations done by our men. They do not feel what we feel and until we get in to the decision making chambers politically,we will not cease to complain and cry.

2023 is just a few months away, the sharks are gathering, let us not sit and watch,if they do not make a room for us on their table, let us create our own table.

Never forget that if you are not comfortable being a door mat, then get up from the floor.

The time is now!

Let us unite and work together for when one woman wins, every woman wins.
