The Red Umbrella : Breaking the Bias

For the lady almost decade my start and end of the week are with awesome township kids who inspire me to rise above any circumstance I am in my life ...

I have got rich kids stealing my son's one single phone from the school toilet .He took it to show at assembly that he won a drawing prize from India and it was lost by first break .

Over the years ,being a Mom in real life I have misplaced pens ,notes, phone ,even laptops ,in the township schools or sometimes under a tent stretched up in an area with no electricity or data ..

Have I ever lost any item amongst these barefoot ,sometimes church handed cloth wearing kids .Not a single time .

The other day This red umbrella was left behind and I told one of the school coordinators later .They couldn't find it ..

One of my corporate friends was visiting and he commented ,they must have taken it ..I got furious as I know these kids as much as my own .

When I went there back on Friday, one of the boys brought that red umbrella safely hidden behind books in the library .They knew I go there Monday's and Fridays ,so they kept it ..

.These are the same boys who are not allowed in  coz I teach Coding to girls only ...They could have been spiteful and thrown it away or sold it ..

Not like the mobile phone the son lost at his rich school .The reason I removed him from there soon ...

We need money ,to improve the lives of others who have less opportunities than our kids ..

We dnt need money and still steal out of spite ..

Richness of mind is  more important than the richness of wealth ..And I am blessed to get the oxygen and learnings from the Township kids .Real change is happening there ..

Speak with them to know decency without bias and acceptance for all ...they are breaking the bias against girls and themselves too .

Our future is in safe hands ..
