THE OTHER SIDE OF TURKANA LOTUBAE

Photo Credit: This photo I took in the afternoon around 2pm where you are advised you can be seriously sick because of the hot sun look for a shed and rest.
This is Lotubae area in a homestead after face to face interview that is how the place looks like
I am Carolyne Ochieng from Eldoret town Kenya I have been a field Researcher for along time.I have visited many towns.Through all my field research women have always been my source of strength in everything I did having been brought up by a single mother this has always taught me there is no level a woman cannot reach.I have always dreamed to be an icon of leadership I have wished to teach and reach far and be a source of inspiration to many women. To show the word that no human is limited.Recentlt I went to Turkana,Lokichar Lokori and Lotubae area I was touched by the living standard of the people drought,no water,no proper schooling no proper security and poor infrastructure .On top of it all the smile I saw on the children made me ask my self what can I do to improve the life of this people .I get everything from water, food a, clothing and Shelter but what about my brothers and sisters in this place if the government could dog boreholes, and teach about irrigation there could be less cases of malnutrition and infant mortality in those areas . Every human being deserves all this rights. No hospitals that can take care of even pregnant women around this area very well .This made me think I was strong but when I saw the women in that area and the stories they shared stories of desperation and hope at the same I'm still questioning myself how can I assist even if it is a small community. No Mpesa agents in areas like Lotubae transport is very expensive so they prefer cash or barter trade for food .No churches around except for few Catholic organisation that go once in while to give mobile mass to the residents.I used to say the story I see on TV was fake but iv been to the ground it's real Let's support our brothers an Sisters in Lotubae in Turkana. Despite the hardship they afford a smile as we were talking to them I really wish they could be reached by anybody who wi be touched I'll be happy if schools are built in those areas, Infrastructure built and security be properly managed to ensure every mother is happy with their family.
