THE MADNESS LAND COULD CAUSE

It was precisely ten years ago, noises of gun shot filled every corners of Ife, dead bodies scathered all ober the place, smokes of burning houses filled the air and people were running helter skelter for dear life. It was Ife-Modakeke riot and on what? land dispute.
There was no cleared cut demarcation between Ife and Modakeke because the modakeke people have been existing in ife for the past 200 years ago. they have been intermarrying for the past decades that you could hardly differentiate from them but when the madness of land fell upon them brother began to kill each other, husbands sending their wives packing, some with their children and some separated from their children. The madness lasted for solid one year until the intervention of General Obasanjo who was the president of Nigeria then. After ten years you can still see the evidence of the terible war in Ife.
This is the extent human being can go in the name of acquiring land and whether we like it or not land is going to outlived us. I was so happy when my father died with no landed property because all his children could be wiped out by relatives who may want to aquire his land.
It is time all human being should realize that Land belong to the Almighty God and He meant it to be enjoyed by all of us male, female irrespective of our tribe and language. The land is God's and its fullest there of.
