THE AFRICAN WOMAN

THE AFRICAN WOMAN
Though dark in complexion
But not in intentions
Her serene-like heart
Is a key to all hearts

Customs and traditions placed her under subjection
With folks she relates in conjunction
She toils and serves
Just to conserve

Recent campaigns of awareness
Has brought to limelight her tenderness
Her manner of simplicity
Is a show of cordiality

From childhood she was exposed to hardship
With adverse conditions in citizenship
Her abilities suffer limitations
In every sphere of exploitation

Today she is being empowered
To put on the armour of power
Free from social injustice and emancipation
Should be an Africa woman’s anticipation

Her obsession and love for motherhood
Has been a precept for womanhood
Without which her matrimonial culture
Would suffer from more conjugal torture
