Share your story in a trauma-informed setting with professionals working in Iraq and Europe
Hi beautiful humans,
I'm co-authoring a book with two clinical psychologists, one from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the other from the Netherlands. They both have extensive experience working with survivors of war where sex has been used as a weapon of war. Together, we've conducted hundreds of trauma-informed interviews and now, combining our areas of expertise, we are writing a manual for both survivors and clinicians/ helpers working with survivors of similar situations.
We will share stories of women survivors and lay out healing modalities that have been successfully implemented by clinicians around the world, throughout history.
If you are a survivor and would like to share your story (as well as what healing modalities have helped you, what type of support you wish you'd had, what you want to share with other survivors), please message me. You can, of course, remain anonymous if you wish.
If you have experience working with and supporting survivors, we'd love to hear about your experience, wherever you are in the world, so that we can collect healing methods that've worked (and haven't worked) for others in similar situations around the world.
Our objective is to create a user-friendly, easily understood manual to validate the experiences of survivors of war where rape was weaponized, to elevate their voices, and to share solutions that we can all adopt to be better humans and supporters.
If you're interested, please feel free to message me here or email me at bhershey@tryglobal.org.
Peace and blessings,
Brenda
