Surviving Stomach Cancer

Dear World Pulse friends and friends from all around the world, I hope this post finds you in excellent shape. After a lengthy period of absence, I am very happy to be among you here once again.

Some of you may not know me, therefore it is obligatory I reintroduce myself once again and explain the reasons behind this post.

Hello. My name is Halima Abdelrahman, a Sudanese journalist, and a mother of three.

Besides my professional dedication, I have spent a great part of my adult life performing social activism as a volunteer in many organizations, such as our world-renowned World Pulse Online community.

Fourteen months ago, my life came to a dramatic and complete halt when I was diagnosed with gastric signet ring cell carcinoma (SRC). The subsequent lengthy periods of treatment and hospitalization robbed me of some precious family times.

The past long, lonely months of chemotherapy became my new normal, and sweeping changes touched every single part of my entire being causing a reset of my dreams, priorities, and outlook.

Hefty medical bills depleted my savings and unpaid unemployment crippled my financial life.

Despite that, my faith grew stronger as I continued to battle this horrible disease with all my might. The only progress I can confidently report is having the cancer cells denied the opportunity to conquer new territories in my system.

A week ago a cherished friend brought to my attention the existence of an alternative medical facility in Mexico.

After an in-depth review of their literature, followed by telephone conversations with the practicing medical team there, some bright lights of hope started to glitter again.

To help overcome the issue of my depleting funds, my friends advised me to try crowdfunding through this great website, GoFundMe.
