✿ The goal is to raise working capital. This includes physical pet care accessories.
✿ The service also includes online marketing and social media services that aim to connect more local pet service providers to potential clients within our local area.
★ Highlight of Dark Serenity's achievements: ★
◐ Dark Serenity has helped return 3 dogs back to their owners (they were stolen).
◐ By participating with the community, Dark Serenity was part of our town's first dog show/pet event in 2018. This is now an annual event.
◐ Up-coming talent is supported, as they can ask for support in a particular field, and Dark Serenity will reach out and link them to professionals, both within and outside the local community.
◐ Dark Serenity helped make the local local pet owners' community tighter by creating a common space they could all share with trust.
✿ By supporting Dark Serenity Pet Space, you will be facilitating the online pet services that is intended to help my fellow service providers grow by increasing their reach within the local community.
✿ You will also be helping me reach out to more clients of my own.

★ My Story: Fibromyalgia, the struggle that birthed Dark Serenity (Ke) ★
✿ I am a country-girl from Kenya who loves animals to a fault. And thus, Dark Serenity Pet Space was born from that passion.
✿ Unfortunately, I have been dealing with fibromyalgia since 2012.
✿ This reality meant that my job opportunities were very limited. ⋆ ⋆ However, I polished up my writing skills and worked as a freelance writer/editor while trying to save up for the pet store.
✿ I also got my first dog, a beautiful German shepherd pup called Lola. I planned to start a line of trained security dogs, and practiced being a dog handler with her. She was my companion for many years.
✿ I was able to start the pet business, but with a very limited potential, due to tiny finances (2019).
✿ It's unfortunate that fibromyalgia sometimes comes in bouts, especially after a really traumatizing event. I ended up unable to work as a writer for some time.
✿ It's unfortunate that Covid hit around that time and I ended up closing my pet store in 2021.
✿ At that time, I also lost my beloved companion dog and mascot of 9 years due to cancer, with whom I had shared some of my medicine to help her manage the pain. She was euthanized some weeks afterwards when it got too painful for her.
✿ Thankfully, I was able to come through, and my body has recovered to the extent that I'm able to write once more, and even create marketing campaigns as I had done before.
✿ I'm not able to be a dog handler any more, so I share my experience and lessons through my writing (blog) and social media.
✿ I also had helped a few psychologist friends with freelance research work, and I ended up loving psychology as a whole.
✿ Thus, I created an online blog resource targeting local youth, including researched articles on some mental issues, especially those that arise due to abuse (including cPTSD, chronic illness and dealing with sexual abuse)
✿ It also links to emergency numbers in Kenya, including a Kenyan online therapy which my therapist helped start and is still part of.
✿ I started this blog because I needed information on toxic relationships after I left a particularly violent one.
✿ There was virtually no resource that most Kenyans could access, and even some of what I researched was like hocus-pocus to most youth. I learned to read complex psychology research articles in an effort to understand what I was going through.
✿ I also wanted to understand why I was expected to stomach the abuse, and why there was so much shame associated with being a victim of domestic abuse.
✿ Thus, I knew that there are very many people stuck in toxic situations at home or work, and I'm sure that if they have the full knowledge, they will know how best to proceed out of the situations.
✿ I combined what I learned during therapy with the knowledge I already had by then. I chose to tap into my writing and marketing potential, and committed to producing high-quality, well-researched articles that were simple enough for a highschool student to understand. The articles also cover health and wellness, and always link back to mental health support.
✿ The blog and marketing campaign has borne some fruits, as I still get engagement from followers, some choosing to share their stories directly with me, or helping them to find a therapist near their area.
✿ I fund the marketing from my pocket, and it's a one-man show. I don't receive any sponsorship as of now, nor do I receive payment for linking my followers to nearby therapists or other services. I however am open to receiving donations in any form, and I appreciate them in advance.
