Striving to keep my identity

Me, doin what I’m most passionate about !

I am from Africa, Cameroon, and for those who come from same country as I do, will resonate on a whole new level with me! I am a young and passionate woman, having dreams to inspire youths of my community by intervening through Youth education and  development. This inspired me to begin a youth program where we focus on the 3E’s education, entrepreneurship and Empowerment…

To many this initiative is out to help youths have a “place” in a world that’s sometimes full of a lot of things and it kind of makes it hard for one to know their place!

To me, it’s a reminder of my redemption! The basis of me starting this initiative was because I felt choked all throughout my life! Living a life which isn’t yours, being subjected to the needs and demands of your parents, having little or no say in the outcome of your life! Never heard but always subjected….As a woman, there’s a limit to my dream, so they think

And then it hit me_
I knew if I felt this way, there was someone out there feeling worst than I did!

The question of what I’m going to do about it came in my mind this time as a savior’s voice with so much anger on how MY life is being tossed about!

And there I found my muse …

I began by bringing together 50 youths in my community and we began with just a simple youth talk session and for the first time in my life I found purpose and clarity

“THIS IS ME” this is really who I am!

This is what I want to spend the rest of my life doing

And from youth talks it grew into something way bigger!

There was NO internal conflicts and battle of choice because that is what I have always wanted for myself …

We dream and we thrive but sometimes we have to push harder! And this push may not always be against the valiant  out there! It will surprise us that sometimes our greatest of pain is caused by those we love most!

Today, I pride myself in choosing me, and finding my place in the world! And I do not wish this feeling ends with me. I am committed to inspire young people that their dreams are still valid! Life is harsh, the world is not as kind as we may have dreamt it to be, everyone needs resilience while positively acting to change our world!

To every girl struggling with securing her identity,

To every woman caught in between the web of confusion,

To every mother expected to work as though she has had no kids, take care of her child as though she has no work, and look as though she’s had no kids and no work,

All that we are, lies in our identify. It is our singular duty to preserve and nurture it! No one defines us but us!

Let’s keep thriving!
