STREET CHILDREN.

story
Few months ago, I went to a popular market in the state I reside; Osun, to buy some stuffs, as I was about to enter my car, a young boy of about nine (9) years old approached me begging for alms, instead of giving him money he requested,I decided to inquire from him why he was not in school because it was during school and and he's still of school age, then he told me his pathetic life story. His name is Joshua,he lost his mother at very tender age that he could not recognize her, his father is equally blind and he has been the one who takes the father out to beg for alms on daily basis before they could both feed, according to him, he was tired of going out to beg alms with his father so he ran away from home and since then he has been fedding for himself,he sleeps wherever the night catches up with him and takes to the street the next day. I requested if he could take me to see the father and he obliged, true to his story, the father is actually blind and the mother late, the following day my team went to the nearest police station to get a police extract to enable us take the boy to an orphanage home where he would be fed and attend school,we then promised to return to the father to see what we can do medically to support in restoring his vision if it's still possible. There are so many street children in the state and it scares me of what tomorrow would be in my country.
