Still Flying - World Pulse Awards Ceremony 2022
Apr 1, 2022
story

It was a meeting so many of us have been anticipating for months. For the third year, an Annual Award Ceremony was prepared for us by our Team. We get to hear directly from women leaders all over this world. These 50 of us represent thousands of others working for the same thing - an end to every single form of violence.
On this day we get to celebrate what each other are doing. The Awards Ceremony brought so many of us together, not in our usual ways of working, addressing emergencies. We were given time to take a few deep breaths together, to have news from sisters who were awarded for all they have been doing. We are given the chance to listen as they speak to what needs to change, and what they imagine and are creating forward. When we gather like this, the web we are weaving together grows even stronger. This Ceremony is a gift from our Team.
We know how important it is for this work to be documented, every single form of violence that we are working to end. We are given this chance to come together to learn, share news, inspire, and to celebrate that we have found each other.
I am amazed when I think of World Pulse sisters, how we interweave what we're doing with each other, calling out for peace, harmony, and taking care of our beloved Mother Earth.
Today's ceremony was amazon after amazon, goddess after goddess, witch after witch, queen after queen describing the astounding things she's accomplishing, creating what needs to happen, sharing news and giving gratitude, love and hope to everyone in the circle.
Days like today are a precious gift. We experience how many of us there are, we learn from each other, we find ways to work together, deepening our interconnections.
The greatest gift was to rest for a few hours and hear the messages from this year’s Grand Prize Winners. With such eloquence, wisdom, strength and love, they spoke to the way forward, with no one forgotten.
We transform this precious joy of time together into action.
This is the beauty of World Pulse. When I think of how powerfully and magnificently it has grown over the last years, the celebration of this year’s Award Recipients undoing the erasure of women's accomplishments, World Pulse is how we have found each other, where we document everything, where we stay close in touch with each other and where our library of stories lives.
To the Board, the Staff, to all who hold this organization together, and to the Grand Prize Spirit Award Recipients who spoke today, deep gratitude for World Pulse, our home base that makes it possible for us to find each other and work together. Deep gratitude that we are able now to soar together.
