Somewhere In The World Today;
A paedophile will win a child's trust and grooming will commence.
A child will be confused and frightened about the actions of an adult on his/her body.
A child will ask questions pertaining his/her body but will be shut down by adults.
A child will tell a parent s/he was sexually abused but s/he will be victim blamed.
An enabler of sexual abuse would shamelessly support a known predator.
A parent will trust another human to fully to take care of his/her child.
A parent will find out his/her child has been sexually abused under his nose.
A parent, neighbour, school administrator, or religious body will decide to keep silent about a case of sexual abuse they are aware of, in fact, one that happened under their nose.
A parent will decide not to fight for his/her child due to shame, ignorance and fear.
A parent will say "My children don't need body safety and sex education, my God will take control".
A child will believe their parents hate them because they refused to fight for them.
Children will believe adults have rights over their bodies because their parents taught them to obey all adults regardless.
Children will be shut down for daring to speak for themselves.
Children will be punished for saying they were sexually abused by a " respected personality".
A child will be killed for being raped to protect a family's honour while the perpetrator goes scot-free.
A perpetrator will sexually abuse a child in confidence because he knows the child will not report and even if s/he reports the parents will do nothing.
In Nigeria, one in four girls and 10 per cent of boys have been victims of sexual violence before their 18th birthday and only 2% of girls and 4% of boys receive any help (UNICEF)
