AM I READY TO SCALE UP ?

Scaling up a social enterprises refers to increasing the enterprises impact or impacts , expanding ones interventions to reach larger populations at times involves implementing interventions at new sites ( branches ) , it means growing bigger than it was ( expanding ) ideas , products , workers the area of geographical coverage and operations . As for me , I am not ready to scale up reason being I am yet to start my nonprofit organization , which I am planning to start small in terms of range offerings , the scales of operations and the area of geographical coverage , growth is automatic once the organization is successful , I prefer growing from small growing is also a natural process . So I will think of scaling up in future God willingly.

WHAT NEEDS AM I RESPONDING TO WHEN I CHOOSE TO SCALE UP ?

Scaling up of a social enterprises is responding to expanding the organization interventions to reach and serve larger populations , in most cases the scaling process involves implementing the interventions at new sites ( branches ) expanding the capacity of available sites to serve a bigger number of participants . Scaling up calls for recruitment training of existing and new staffs increased production levels , to expand storage and delivery mechanisms and wider operations . Easing the team into scaling up is required because they may find it hard to handle new staffs plus alongside expanded capacity and workloads . Consider scaling up in practical ways , with a clear understanding of expectations and a comprehensive plan in place makes a major difference . To think out of the box and find better ways to amplify your scope of work as you allow yourself to fail and learn because some projects may not flow as expected .

HOW WILL I PLAN AND IMPLEMENT THIS ?

First and foremost , before thinking of scaling up ( expanding ) one has to find out if the reserved organization money is enough to cover the required process expenses that come up with scaling up ? because all angles of scaling up are associated with expenses , ranging from workers , renting or constructing , infrastructures, raw materials , trainings and more . Find out if you can handle expanded operations ranging from management and all that it comes with? Think of the changes required to accommodate the expansion ? How expensive will the changes be for the enterprises to cover ? How can the required fund be accessible ? Consider fundraising for the scaling up through different means and sources . Consider taking your precious time and test the new products diverse offerings and services you would like to role out in advance. Scaling up also involves clarity terms of staff capacity and hiring inventory management and maintainace as well as associated costs . Furthermore , you have to understand whether there is financial staffing , and resources capacity to fulfill the growth process . Once all these steps are in place you will implement by calling for simultaneous recruitment , training of existing and new staffs , increase production levels , expand strategies and delivery mechanisms and wider operations .        Though nonprofits happen to be among the most rewarding career's , they seem to have enough challenges . But I am determined and because I feel I should serve the community , will focus in empowering my staffs members , measuring my programs and effectively communicate my impacts to enhance donations and succeed in helping the needy .
