SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP MODULE 4.

Operation refers to the management of the inner working , it is a field of business which covers the entire administration of business practices to maximize efficiency with in an organization , it includes overseeing , planing, organizing the organizations processes to balance the revenue cost without any adverse impacts on the enterprises goals in such away that the individual units operate well and independently together . Operations are important for a smooth functioning of the enterprise both in everyday sense of things as well as in the future facing goal oriented action .

WHAT IS MY OPERATIONAL STRUCTURE ?

Since my plans are to operate a nonprofit organization , which is not motivated by profits I intend to prioritize team work , after hiring a sizable number of staffs ( board of directors ) which will consist with at least three members ( a president , vice president , secretary or treasurer ) I will add one at a time , I will ensure to have articles of incorporation showing the number of board members and bylaw that indicate how board members are appointed . The executive director may handle the daily operations over seeing the technology and marketing , human resources , financial, marketing development and he will always report to the board members which will be in position of hiring and firing power because it is required for the nonprofit to incorporate I believe this seems to be the most appropriate type of organizational structure for nonprofit organizations , I intend to create it by building teams made up of board members , groups of volunteers plus three or four staffs While orienting towards particular projects , forming a network that facilities people to move into and out of the organization easily , in future if my organization progresses I may apply a more hierarchical structure . But because my organization is a nonprofit any surplus has to be reinvested in the organization which is not a profit to be distributed to owners , my organization will have a manager to over see the operations with staffs reporting to the manager while taking care of the outcome , production and sales and reworking operations that do not work , diversifying offerings , scaling up communication which is important in this field , and I will always reserve a back up plan just Incase the applied one is not stable or fails . A mong the hired staffs I will ensure to appoint one who will review grunts and donations, request and submits recommendations to board of directors or a committee for approval plus a development director who will strictly be responsible for marketing the organization and raising funds with the help of events , mailing , donations, grant applications , fundraisers , planed giving and other available methods . Volunteers will be allowed to come up with ideas which will get approval from the board of directors then they will perform their work themselves.

WHAT DO I WANT TO PRIOTIZE IN THE WORKING OF THE ENTERPRISES ?

First and foremost I intend to prioritize on hiring the right people , best understanding the health of my organization, I intend to push to find innovative ways to drive funding mode while engaging a new generation as well as developing a marketing strategy, I intend to concentrate on growing my mission plus my revenue streams , attending the community which will enable me to stay focused , attract good talents as I continue to progress my impact with my mission . I will also prioritize taking stock of protocols at regular intervals with the help of establishing standards , measuring performance , compare performance to standards and then apply corrective action as required . I will also refine what seems to work and then discard what is not working , I also intend to sort out what is working and failing , I will prioritize to listen to my team members as a whole to reach a perfect solution , I will ensure to prioritize clear communication a cross all levels because it is an important aspect it helps to inform , to express feelings , to imagine , to influence , to meet social expectations and it also helps the organization to gain new supporters and secure donations . I also intend to prioritize self care and safety of staff members in terms of their well being this can promote better health , leads to more creativity, improved productivity and stronger relationships . I intend to prioritize duty of loyalty which describes the boards obligations to operate in the best interest of the organization and duty of obedience which ensures that board of directors must make sure that the nonprofit is abiding by all applicable laws and regulations and does not engage in illegal activities . It's also better to always prioritize decentralization of authority which is a system with in an organization which combines the top , middle and lower levels of management they all contribute in decision making rather than concentrating power and authority in a single authority . I will also prioritize critical feedback for example Incase I introduce something new in my organization operations I will ask the staff to offer constructive feedback. I will make sure to work hand in hand with the board members to provide guidance to the organization , contribute to the organizational culture, strategic focus , effectiveness and financial stability .

WHAT RESOURCES CAN I BRING IN AND INVITE FROM OUTSIDE TO FACILITIE THIS ?

Before thinking of the resources I need to be aware of my targets , know the purpose of the event , consider why should people attend ? Motivations and more .

Organizing an event is one of the resources one can apply to bring in inviting from outside , by writing a clear and concise description from the attendees , perspectives because most attend events out of motivations make sure to high light the benefits of attending not forgetting to include the event name , time and accessable place , make sure to map the place . Craft the benefits in simple understandable words . One can also embrace a multiple approach , a mix of out and in bound channel's is a perfect idea to invite your event by doing that they all feel at home and welcomed , such as email which is a great chanel , sms / mms , social media , landing page , phone calls , posters banners and flyers . Grant applications is also another resource to invite , planned giving , fundraising mailing donations and more .
