March 8, International Women's Day, checking in with my sisters and their celebrations around the world

Hello my global family,

World Pulse, you are my foundation, my source of energy and source of technology. From 2011 until today, I continue to be inspired and innovated and I want to wish you Happy International Women’s Day and Women’s Month!

From the beginning of our sisterhood, I have never been disappointed. I have been inspired by others and have had the privilege of inspiring and impacting others myself. From that day until this one, every day is a new day for me, with new friends and a continually expanding world of love and solidarity, through technology.

When I open my laptop, I see I have new friends I have never met face to face. For instance, Christian Marc, who is one of our big supporters – we are connected only through social media and email interactions.

And a woman who is with disability, my dear online sister Celine Osukwu. I missed a chance of meeting her a few months ago in Nairobi when we were both there for conferences.

And my dear sister Tamarack Verrall from Canada, a dear sister-friend and supporter!

There are so many that there’s no way I could list them all!

I have been fortunate to meet some of course, like my dear blind sister from Fiji. We met at a conference in Eugene, Oregon. I had no idea she was also attending, and how wonderful it was to hug her neck. We even got to room together!

Some would say these virtual bonds are not real, but for me, I can get worried if I don’t hear from someone for a period of time, wondering what has happened; perhaps they have even passed. Many of my sisters are in developing countries, like myself, and live in desperate situations, or are simply at risk for standing for love and equality in its many forms.

These bonds we have formed through World Pulse are heart-bonds, not mental imaginings. We have shared, supported one another, lifted, and encouraged one another to reach and grab hold of what’s calling us forward. We are sharing a destiny of leading this world into all that it’s wanting for us.

Sometimes if I’m hungry, but I have connection, I can be fine because the alive part of me is being nourished by all of you!

Technology is our medium for bridging all distances between us. I am in Africa’s Congo, but when I hit a button on my laptop, I find myself in the home or office of a dear sister in the U.S. or Canada, or South American or Europe, Asia or Australia! We are hearing one another, feeling one another, and through our love and solidarity, enabling one another to sense that we are the light of the world.

I could go on and on and on, maybe until I run out of electricity, but let me just finish by saying, Be Well My Sisters!
